The Mo and The Ro

So for those of you who have been with us since those rough and tumble, heady early beginnings waaaayyyy back in Autumn 2009 (remember those days? Seems so long ago) you will remember the game I like to play called – The Ro plays with the website.

So don’t be alarmed if something seems off – just do a double take then relax – in fact if you refresh the page I bet it’ll change again. Basically I test changes by letting the changes take effect and recreating what you see – I do this mainly so I can sleep at night knowing it’s correct, and besides really there’s only so much fun a test environment can afford.

Change is good!

Yes it’s true! I am slowly winding my home!……..It was a wonderful trip full of lots of stories etc etc to be told………………See you all next week!

OK boys and girls, with The Mo on the other side of the world in a completely different time zone and the boys in completely different sleep patterns, straight up video reviews are tough at best. Hence our newest and most temporary video review category – Long Distance Review.

Check in periodically on the video review page as we catch up on all the big recent releases (thank you Christmas release season for making our job both fun and difficult to keep up with).

Well folks, I won’t be going to another country currently in the southern hemisphere, enjoying Summer weather, but I will be on vacation nonetheless. The Mo will still be popping in from Down Under, and I will be here from time to time if any stories or events catch my eye and I want to share but otherwise I will be a ghost this coming week.

Where will I be? Not sure, but after J.D. Salinger’s death I feel like I might pull a book off the shelf and enjoy some downtime – not “Catcher” though, that’s not indie cred enough for me…..I was always more partial to “Seymour” anyway.

OK gang, click on the tab above this post labeled “Messageboard” to head to our new discussion forum! The comments are great and we still encourage them, but we also wanted to let you guys in on the fun a bit more. Over at “the boards” as we’ll call them, you can create your own discussions on subjects we may miss, or maybe we got to it, but the topic is on page 45 by now. You’ll be more in control of the material at the top in the discussion forums.

I have allowed guests to post and read the board, but joining will allow for a much broader and enjoyable experience. You can create and maintain your own identity on the messageboard.

Now, the rules. Essentially The Mo and I are both liberal mined people, and will allow for a lot of things, but the two of us – in conjunction with The Merc who will be providing moderator duties – will cut you off at the knees if you get too mean and overstep any lines in the sand regarding proper etiquette/offensive behavior.

I’m also hoping and expecting we’ll rarely have to enforce those rules. The inmates are now running the asylum. Enjoy guys.

So some of you may be wondering where I’ve been (and others possibly “who are you?”), and some may have even been on the site for the brief second I made a huge change and know where I’m headed.

We are in the testing phase of creating a messageboard. I have been devoting my time to this over the past couple days, and after some hitches mostly caused by my learnings as I go routine, I am feeling good about it all. This will be a board for all of us to get into some full-blown discussions on all thing awesome – or not so awesome – that we touch on in our videos and posts.

In fact, we envision this allowing for you guys to bring stories to our attention, or conversely to keep up the chatter on stories that we bring to you, but are slipping dangerously close to page two obscurity.

Some of you from time to time may see some tabs or links allowing access to the discussion board, and some of you may even get there if you’re quick enough – if so congrats, but it may be boring until we open it up.

When will it open you ask? Good question, you guys are so smart. We’re hoping to have this online and operational shortly after Christmas. We planned for after Christmas as we plan on being nog-drunk for the better part of the holidays.

Things may be a little quiet today as we are recovering from our Official Launch Party that was held last night…..put it to you this way………please don’t bang any pots and pans together!……LOL

No we haven’t gone on Christmas vacation early, we in fact have a back log of movies to review via video! Delay is due in part to us setting up our new set.

With that said however, it will be a work in progress, but having a permanent set with (eventually) some proper logo designs will hopefully not only make it easier for us to make shows more often, but hopefully it’ll be more pleasing to your eyes as well.

Video reviews of Precious, Planet 51, and The Road are on deck for early next week. They would be this weekend but we’ll be hosting our official launch party at Club Rouge and will be too drunk to post.

Drunk dialing though is still on.

Thanks to all those people who came out to support our first screening…….Raiders Of The Lost Ark on the big screen was AWESOME!!!!!

The Mo here guys! As part of our video review for “2012″ I stated that Ice Age 3 is second only to “Titanic” as far as total international box office gross goes! Well……………I was wrong! It is in fact the 3rd highest grossing film internationally behind both Titanic and Lord Of The Rings:Return Of The King!…….Oops!
